About Angels & Airwaves

**Angels & Airwaves** is an American rock band and multimedia project founded in 2005 by Tom DeLonge, former guitarist and vocalist of Blink-182. The group includes guitarist David Kennedy, drummer Ilan Rubin, and bassist Matt Rubano. Unlike a traditional band, Angels & Airwaves positions itself as an *art project* that explores large human themes through various media beyond music, including films, comics, and live events[1][3]. The band was formed during a hiatus of Blink-182, when DeLonge envisioned creating "epic and anthemic" music that combined influences from bands like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and U2. Subsequent albums include *I-Empire* (2007), *Love* (2010) and *Love: Part Two* (2011), *The Dream Walker* (2014), and *Lifeforms* (2021)[1][3]. A notable achievement of Angels & Airwaves is their integration of music with film and technology. The band produced the science fiction film *Love* (2011), which they screened in 460 theaters nationwide alongside a live-streamed concert event called *Love Live*. They also created an animated short, *Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker*, and accompanying graphic novels and comics, exemplifying their multimedia approach[1][3][4]. Embracing evolving music industry models, the band has experimented with free music distribution and digital fan engagement via pay-per-view concerts and podcasts. This strategy reflects DeLonge’s belief that music should be freely accessible, while monetization comes from other content and experiences[4]. Currently, Angels & Airwaves continues to release music and tour, with their latest album *Lifeforms* launched in 2021. Their ongoing multimedia projects and innovativ
